Homemade apple cider

Store bought apple cider can be full of preservatives and sugar so make your own!
Total Time 3 hours

Ingredients

  • 10 apples quartered
  • 1 orange quartered
  • 4 cinnamon sticks
  • 3 tsp whole cloves
  • 1 whole nutmeg
  • 1/4 cup honey or maple syrup

Instructions

  1. Add all ingredients to a large stock pot and cover with water. Bring the mixture to a boil, then reduce heat and simmer for 2 hours.

  2. Remove oranges. Mash the apples and simmer for another hour.
  3. Strain through a fine mesh strainer or use a cheese cloth.
  4. Serve warm (and add bourbon if ya want!)
